Laura Boyko, MSW RSW

Laura is a registered social worker/psychotherapist working with youth, adults, couples and families. She is also an experienced life coach and leader. She uses her skills as a social worker and coach to develop and support those around her to enhance their resilience skills and use mindfulness to deal with life’s ongoing stressors and pressures. As a therapist, Laura works to ensure that a safe and comfortable space is created to invite conversation about the most sensitive of issues. Life challenges of all sorts are welcomed, and Laura is able to receive whatever brings you to counselling.

Theresa Robertson, MSW RSW

Theresa is a Registered Social Worker/Psychotherapist, working with children, youth, adults and families.  Theresa has provided non-judgemental and compassionate professional counselling and social work services in a variety of settings; including community mental health and education. Theresa believes in the uniqueness of every individual and is passionate about working collaboratively with people to help them build resiliency and reach their personal goals. Theresa operates from a strength based, person-centred perspective and will incorporate proven therapies into each person’s unique wellness journey.

PLEASE NOTE: In addition to private practice, Theresa is currently employed by the Durham Catholic District School Board and as such, is not able to take on clients who are students/parents of this school board to prevent conflicts of interest. Every effort is made to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality in the client’s best interest but conflicts may arise for fellow employees of DCDSB. Teresa Melrose, MA RP(Q)

REGISTERED PSYCHOTHERAPIST (Qualifying)

Teresa is a Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She supports clients working through grief and loss, PTSD, abuse and trauma, depression and anxiety, among other mental health concerns. Whether you are suffering from the loss of a pet, family member, or friend, Teresa can help you through your grieving process. Loss is also felt during other transitions such as divorce, job loss, change in identity, and even dementia, and Teresa is there to make the journey a little smoother.

Teresa also offers a Trauma Specific Therapeutic Orientation. It takes time to process emotions that surface and she can help by listening to your experience and offering evidence-based techniques to help you move forward.

Anusha Gowda, MSW RSW

Anusha Gowda is Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Worker (OCSWSSW). She completed Masters of Social Work through Bangalore University, and also holds a Master’s in Philosophy in Psychiatric Social Work from NIMHANS.

She has worked with a diverse clientele within a multitude of clinical inpatient and outpatient settings. She has provided individual and group counselling to clients suffering from anxiety, depression, stress, anger management, insomnia, chronic pain, grief and other mental health challenges.

She has a special interest in working with women as they navigate life and role transitions, specifically in the areas of pregnancy, motherhood, co-parenting, fertility, and loss. She has done her maternal mental health certificate from Postpartum Support International.
